Match Preview: FC Basel - Real Madrid

The start of the Champions League this week provides the latest champion Real Madrid the chance to right the ship after a disastrous start of season, when he faces Basel by the activity of Group B.

Real Madrid ended a 12 year wait to win their tenth European championship this year and now has a new goal: defend that crown, something that no one gets over 25 years.

After the tenth coveted European Cup, aims to extend its dominance in Europe and make history. Much work awaits for it to Carlo Ancelotti, who in just four months has seen his team has entered a process of distrust, with bad results for the lack of continuity in their play and poor concentration on defense.

The defeats in the league against Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid open a wound that should begin to close against Basel. With players pointed an accusing finger to the fans, who focused their anger at the captain Iker Casillas with a pinch marks a turning point.

To achieve this, however, will have better assembling new parts because the first results of the new season have been disastrous: three defeats in four matches, including two against Atletico Madrid, who had bowed 4-1 in the final of Champions.

Real Madrid was reinforced by figures as Colombian James Rodriguez and Germany's Toni Kroos, two of the best players in the World Cup in Brazil. But one misses some of the departed, especially quarterback midfield Xabi Alonso and Angel di Maria.

The team still does not gel and lost to Atlético mourning the Spanish Supercopa. Again beat Atlético 2-1 Saturday in the Spanish league, a week after the meringues should fall 4-2 to Real Sociedad after squandering a two-goal lead.
